Hello, we are Alonzo and Shanae.
We have been permanent residents living in Panama for nearly 4 years. I'm from Gary, Indiana and my wife is from Cleveland. We moved to Panama from Louisville in 2021 and love our new home!
We starting thinking seriously about leaving the United States in 2017. We saw even at that time, how quickly things were deteriorating there. With mass murders, high rates of violent crime, people being torn apart along political, racial and gender lines, inflation, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. It was TIME TO GO!
Our Story
Prior to leaving the U.S. I was an engineer, a New Product Introduction program manager for a major laser printer company. Shanae was an IT Project Manager for a major healthcare company.
We became entrepreneurs a few years before leaving the U.S. We started designing and selling clothes in addition to making and selling the holy anointing oil noted in Exodus 30 of the bible on our Etsy shop and Amazon.
Those businesses grew to a point that allowed us to quit our corporate jobs and operate our businesses from Panama. God has truly blessed us!

Our Passion is to Help Others Leave the U.S.
We started our YouTube channel "Chosen Few Expats" to share information about Panama and inspire others to leave the U.S. or your home country if experiencing similar dangers and loss of freedoms.
The name of our YouTube channel reflects the "chosen few" who Christ said would have the "eyes to see and ears to hear."
While we are saddened to see conditions in the U.S. continue to decline quickly, we could not be more excited to have met many new expats here and continue to inspire others to relocate internationally.
